Naturist walking trails on the camping site The ground of La Balma has a number of well-marked walking trails. Sometimes they follow centuries-old donkey trails and sometimes old river-beds. All walks on La Balma have an average duration of about one hour and can be combined to longer walks if you like.Because the largest parts of the walks are all on the grounds of the camping site they are all naturist walks. They are without exception beautiful walks, during which you can enjoy all aspects of the wonderful nature of the region, rivers, forests, plants and sometimes even animals. ![]() This walks brings you to the special places of the camping site. You start at the old Mas and walk along the path of the camping site to the “Plan d’eau.” After that you pass a river-bed and will after a short wandering arrive at “Le Paradis.” Along this basic walk you will find all the starting points for the other walks. “Riu Sec” means Dry River. This walk leads you mainly over trails along a dry river and through its bed. This walks has a connection to the walking path to the village of Taulis. The Coustou is the mountain opposite the camping site and is visible from nearly all pitches. The trail has some steep parts, so sound shoes are indispensable for this walk. The effort will be rewarding. There are many points from which you can have a splendid view on the mountainous scenery. It may even be possible that you can recognize your own tent or caravan from one of those view points. From this walk you may proceed along the road to the village of Saint Marsal. A centuries old donkey trail leads you from the camping site to the “Ravin du Martin”. After about ten minutes you arrive at a point which you might never forget, not only because of its magnificent 360º panoramic view, but also because of the unprecedented tranquillity. From this view point the trail goes down and after that a bit of a climb straight across the forest leads to the next view point. For this walk sound shoes are indispensable. The camping site is very much appreciated by mountain hikers. They have their base camp on La Balma and make day trips from there. There are often experienced mountain hikers who will walk with less experienced guests to show them the region from a different perspective.
